Our Story

Malaysia Purple League

Founded in 2013, by a group of passionate sports loving corporate figures with the aim of complementing the Malaysian badminton effort.

Purple League (M) Sdn. Bhd. aims to create a brand new competition platform in support of the Malaysian badminton effort by helping to raise the level and accessibility of the Malaysian badminton competition platforms to talented young players aspiring to be future champions for the country.

The Purple League, which is the key event in the Malaysia Purple League stable of events organised annually, is thus named to draw inspiration from the colour PURPLE, which has long been associated with royalty, power, and courage. The league is an initiative that provides players of all levels, both professionals and amateurs, with an opportunity to gain invaluable competition experience, and concurrently strives to engage retired national greats to guide and inspire a new generation of champions.

PURPLE LEAGUE JUNIOR

The Purple League Junior 2018 is the fourth edition of the Junior League. The League was launched in 2015 to offer talented junior players under the age of 19 the opportunity to hone their skills in a highly competitive environment. It assumes an important complementary role that dovetails into the main Purple League. By setting a solid foundation, these initiatives are tailored to concurrently elevate the quality of badminton in the country and to produce a new era of champions.

Over 300 local and international junior players from 19 clubs will be competing in a single round robin competition in Division 1 and Division 2 for championship titles in their respective divisions.
