Job Description

Reporting to the Managing Director, you have the ability to make a genuine impact on the success of the business, by efficiently and effectively providing financial and operational support to the business and teams. Your HR responsibilities include confidentially managing payroll, knowledge of labour legislation, updating HR policies, and a team growth mindset. 

An exciting role where you will be exposed and involved with leadership, management, retail and wholesale head office operations, we are seeking a reliable, experienced, organized and detail oriented team leader. Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to) – 

70% - Finance 
  • Oversee and approve daily accounting transactions including intercompany transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and overall reconciliation
  • Monitor invoices, cashflow and general expenditure variance against budget, whilst managing budgets and costs effectively
  • Development and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual management and statutory reporting, including Management report, P&L and balance sheets
  • Management of the month end, and year end processes including liaise with external party for Audit and Tax return filing. 
  • Working with Management team to develop reports and dashboards to increase commercial awareness and drive improvement in business performance
  • Working with the Managing Director on budgeting, forecasting and financial plans 

20% - Human Resource 
  • Manage monthly payroll, claims and allowances in confidentiality, in line with HR budget
  • Monitor attendance, HR policies, compensation and benefits packages, ensuring employees understand and comply with them
  • Work with MD/managers on performance reviews (e.g. relevant feedback as and when needed, plus bi-annual/annual reviews)
  • Act as the point of contact regarding labour legislation issues

10% - Operations 
  • Providing a leadership support function to teams and motivating staff to achieve goals 
  • Provide performance and financial advice to the teams – e.g. logistics costings, procurement expenses, missing parcel – to ensure operations & merchandising expenses are optimised 
  • Oversee operational monthly reports to ensure SLAs are achieved and the operation flow and logistics are controlled base on SOPs

Job Requirements

Qualifications Needed: 
  1. Degree in Accounting or equivalent, with 8 to 10 years of experience from a finance or planning background, preferably in a retail or wholesale environment 
  2. Audit exposure at an established global public accounting firm is a significant advantage 
  3. Experienced in setting and implementing financial reports, plans and budgets for senior management 
  4. Able to provide general financial and commercial advise to the product merchandise planning and procurement teams – ensuring assortment plans, replenishment and all other financial plans are optimised
  5. Strong working knowledge of various Accounting and Human Resources Management Systems and Applicant Tracking System. 
  6. Proven work experience in managing HR / payroll 
  7. Familiarity with HR systems 
  8. Good knowledge of labour legislation (particularly employment contracts, employee leaves and insurance
  9. Proficient in both written and spoken English
