Job Description

• Preparation of design report, calculation, drawings, specification, cost estimation and details/ schedules for projects. 
• Design specifications for interconnection switchyard, power plant substation, and power infrastructure including transformers, cables, breakers, and power factor correction equipment. 
• Collect system data from client, utility, suppliers, manufacturers and subcontractors for power system modelling. 
• Manage and perform system studies such as load flow, short circuit, power factor correction, power system protection, etc. 
• Represent company at client, design team, progress, and site inspection meetings throughout the course of the design and construction stages of the project. 
• Produces quality engineering plans, studies, and specifications while ensuring compliance with department, project, company, utility, regional electrical entity, and industry requirements and standards. 
• Leads and conducts value-engineering studies of alternative design approaches. 
• Interprets plans, specifications, drawings, and documents related to engineering and construction. 
• Prepare reports to clients and project manager on progress, delays, defects and rectification measures for the M&E works 
• Provide technical advice and resolve M&E technical issues on site 
• Supervise M&E works (e.g. installation of renewable energy plants, green building technologies, lighting, air-conditioning, mechanical ventilation) in the construction project) 
• Obtain the necessary information both internally and externally from Architects, Quantity Surveyors and Design Consultants for the design to proceed. 
• Communication with local authorities/utilities concerning system and interface requirements. 

Job Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering/Power System Engineering 
• Minimum 3-4 years of working experience, preferably in consulting environment, with minimum 2 years of working experience in detailed design with site experience. 
• Relevant experience in mechanical/electrical building services engineering design, including areas such as specification writing, design calculations. 
• Have knowledge and understanding of engineering practices, techniques and procedures and interfaces with design team and client needs. 
• Make reference to the relevant regulations, industry standards and good practice in engineering design. 
• Experience of seeing conceptual designs through to completion and dealing directly with clients.
• A member of a professional Institution or close to achieving professional engineer status.
