Trip.com Group is a rapidly growing full service OTA (online travel agency). We are looking for a dynamic team member with a flights background to play a crucial role in building and supporting external and internal partnerships, functions and strategy.

The Role

Due to continued business growth & expansion in Malaysia, Trip.com Group has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and commercially astute Airline Director to join our friendly team in Kuala Lumpur. 

Reporting to the Regional Airline Director - Oceania & South East Asia, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the airline commercial strategy to drive growth and market share within Malaysia. This role will be accountable for managing airline initiatives and strategic projects, focused on positioning Trip.com Group as a leading Online Travel Agency in Malaysia.   

The successful candidate will be required to work with various teams in Malaysia but also throughout the APAC region - so we are looking for someone who is adaptable, innovative and a team player!


Job Requirements

To be considered for this position you will need to bring the following:

  • Minimum 6-8 years of commercial airline experience within an Airline or Travel Agency environment. 
  • Consistent and proven track record in successfully managing key accounts and driving revenue growth
  • Self-starter mentality, intrinsically motivated and comfortable blazing a completely new path and defining innovative solutions for our airline partners 
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, must be able to use data to identify underlying trends and make informed commercial decisions
  • Proven and demonstrated experience with leading and closing commercial negotiations 
  • Ability to work autonomously and lead a wide variety of projects at a time whilst working to strict deadlines.
  • Superior knowledge of the online travel market as well as an understanding of primary sales channels operating within this environment.
  • Experience developing and implementing initiatives to drive performance with key airline partners.
  • Cross functional experience (product development & project management experience)
  • Results orientated and experience working to strict deadlines
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills 
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally 
  • Language skills – Business level English and fluent Bahasa Melayu. Mandarin language is desirable but not necessary.
