Job Description

Your primary objective is to oversee the growth and content development of SchoolAdvisor.my - inclusive of the site, social pages, and overall brand. You will support the development and execution of marketing strategies and initiatives to ultimately grow website traffic and further grow the SchoolAdvisor.my brand. Responsibilities within the role are as follows;

1. Content Curation & Creation
  • Research, development curation & consolidation of articles based on breaking news and current events
  • Updating of previous applicable content to be more currently relevant
  • Research & development of content materials (eg newsletters, ebooks)
  • Research & development of client requested articles
  • Working with internal & external stakeholders to obtain information needed for content development 
  • Research & development of supportive content (copy-writing for client advertising, etc)
  • Development & execution of content strategy based on season, current events and/or business strategy 
 
2.  Social Media Management
 
  • Management of SchoolAdvisor’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), maintaining effective engagement and to promote content (and ultimately traffic) leading to the SchoolAdvisor portal.
  • Posting organic or reshared content daily to promote engagement on social sites 
  • Responding to inquiries from SchoolAdvisor’s Facebook and support groups in a timely manner
 
3. School Networking
  • Meeting with relevant stakeholders (clients, parents, institution representatives) to build relationships and generate content (interviews, quotes, opinions etc) 
  • Representing SchoolAdvisor for any relevant events that may require coverage, representation and/or content research 
 
4. Website Management & Reporting
  • Generating weekly reports on website and social traffic and engagement, working towards growing the overall site traffic 
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders (tech team, client servicing teams) on changes and improvements needed to be made onto the site
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to execute client related updates or changes as and when campaigns start and end 
  • Performing regular checks on website to ensure website elements and function run as per needed and notifying internal stakeholders when site fixes are needed to be made

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Public Relations/Marketing/Advertising/Journalism/Mass Communications/English, or any other relevant degree
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a content writing- focused team, with at least 1 years' experience in a Editor/Managerial role. Candidate must have experience writing and/curating website content. 
  • Candidate must have a clear understanding of developing SEO-friendly content 
  • Strong written and spoken command of English. Other languages are an added advantage within the role. 
  • A keen ability to strategize and develop marketing initatives to grow site traffic and social platform engagement
  • Able to develop multiple formats of content - from lengthy, research driven articles to short, punchy listicles 
  • Strong project management skills, showcasing keen organizational ability and strength in multitasking
  • Comfortable in client-facing situations & communicating with senior stakeholders wiithin an organization
  • Social Media Management & Strategy is an added advantage within the role.
