Job Description

The Senior Consultant undertakes short-term or long-term projects and leads other project team members. Senior Consultants are customer-focused collaborators with an extensive background in software and IT systems. They empower our clients to use technology solutions to overcome problems and achieve business objectives by understanding the needs and limitations of both business and technology.

Project Management & Implementation
  • Plan and manage the delivery of IT projects, and ensure that projects are completed on time and according to budget
  • Identify opportunities to reduce project costs through cross-functional enhancements
  • Meet with clients to determine project requirements and goals, plan timelines, and set deadlines
  • Work directly with clients to lead projects and guide business process analysis sessions
  • Analyze customers’ IT needs and provide independent and strategic advice for improvement
  • Design, recommend, and implement effective technology solutions that will enhance the clients’ business functionality and overall performance
  • Identify and resolve gaps in system capabilities
  • Communicate with staff at all levels of the clients’ organizations
  • Assist clients through the change-management process
  • Conduct research as needed to gain a thorough understanding of system specifications, work practices, and the nature of our clients’ businesses
  • Develop subject matter expert skills
  • Develop standard project documentations and templates, and prepare documentation and progress reports for clients
  • Review solutions designed by project team members
  • Create testing and training materials for client users and team members
  • Develop data migration strategy and oversee data migration activities
  • Supervise, motivate, and provide guidance to project team members
  • Assess and keep the management updated on project team member's performance

Support
  • Manage the transition from project implementation to post go-live support
  • Assist in the development of the Support Service Structure, implementing service standards and strategies, and developing common systems and processes based on best practice
  • Ensure that incidents and requests are handled according to agreed procedures and ensure that documentation of the supported components is available and in an appropriate form for team members providing support
  • Assist in coordinating the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures and analyze patterns and trends
  • Develop implementation plans for dealing with complex service requests for change or for the introduction of new services, evaluating risks to integrity of existing systems in proposed implementations, and review the effectiveness of change implementation
  • Help ensure that the Support Service is efficient, effective, and adaptable to changing circumstances
  • Maintain a dynamic knowledgebase of technical solutions to ensure that the Support Team is as efficient and productive as possible
  • Develop Support Team’s skills so that they can provide the best service to clients
  • Build and maintain positive client relationships

Organizational Improvement
  • Contribute to the growth of the consulting practice through leadership, development of solution accelerators, reusable assets, and participation and ownership of operational areas
  • Implement high-level improvements in line with company policies and goals related to efficiency
  • Stay informed and up-to-date on technological advancements
  • Meet with Team Leads and other Project Managers on a regular basis to give updates and request support when needed

Job Requirements

Major/Discipline
Computer Science, Information Technology or any related field

Qualifications & Skills
  • Degree in any of the major/discipline mentioned above or a combination of related experience and education
  • Previous experience in IT consulting or related field
  • One or more years in an IT management position
  • Prior customer service and client relations experience preferred
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding on enterprise software applications, data processing, and hardware platforms
  • Good working skills with Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project
  • Background in web technologies such as HTML, Javascript, Python, JSON, AJAX, and XML will be an advantage
  • Project costing and budgeting skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Good written and spoken Chinese
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical clients and colleagues
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer care skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organization, planning, and reporting skills with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities
  • Able to adapt and work well under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Good teamwork skills
  • Result-oriented individual
  • Willingness to work occasionally outside of normal business hours
