Job Description
You will become part of the core team inventing the future of a smart sustainable, circular food system harnessing the power of insects; designing, building and running cutting edge software systems and technology to help Making Insects Work for our planet.
Job Description:
- Contribute to the software development, IoT and related projects and initiatives at Protenga.
- Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code and open to experiments.
- Maintain and manage all of our software systems and applications.
- Own the documentation of analysed data, including the codes and applications.
- Help develop solutions for application and functionality through investigations, being the hero that analyses data from our teams in pursuit of simple, elegant and effective solutions.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or comparable practical experience.
- Fresh grads are welcome but should display comprehension in various development environments and tech stacks.
- Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures and programming (functional / OOP programming, recursion etc.)
- Knowledge of sql/nosql databases and analytics
- Experience with our tech stack and programming languages will be a plus (especially experience with JS; python is a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and high work standards; pro-active and independent thinking and problem-solving competence.
- Experience in system design & architecture will be a plus
- Experience in computer vision will be a plus
- Strong quantitative and probabilistic fundamentals and interest or experience in data analysis & modelling will be a plus
- High-level of curiosity; you think deeply and cross-disciplinary about problems to identify pragmatic and elegant solutions. You can communicate your thought process, considerations and trade-offs clearly.
- We are looking for an entrepreneurial mindset - people who understand that while different teams have different responsibilities the company only succeeds together or all fail. This also means that you think like an owner and don't wait for someone else to design your daily job scope.

The work will be carried out at Roslin Technologies’ soon-to-be-completed bespoke genetic nucleus facility near Edinburgh, Scotland.
