Job Description

What is expected of you?

a) Interface low level electronics with high level systems in unmanned vehicles (multirotor and/or planes) using commercial off-the-shelfs (COTS) and custom electronics and test the overall system.

b) Design experimental flight tests to assess UAV flight stability performance in a real-world environment and provide feedback to technical teams.

c) To be able to modify firmware found in the various components of Drones/UAVs (flight controllers, speed controllers etc.) to suit the company’s need.

Job Requirements

Best qualification to have?

a) Background in Robotics, Computer Science, or Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering

b) High proficiency in using Linux.

c) Must have experience with UAS and Autonomous Vehicles; including experience in programming multirotor drones and companion computers.

d) Strong experience with flight controller source codes [C++/Python] (Pixhawk, PX4, Ardupilot) and associated components such as receivers, transmitters, transceivers, telemetry modules, FPV and other accessories.

e) You should have had strong experience with the following protocols: MAVLink, MAVProxy, UART Serial, SPI, I2C or IIC, PWM, PPM or CPPM, SBUS

f) You should have had exposure to many of the following subsystems: Accelerometers, Gyroscopes, Magnetometers/Compass, GPS, Radio Receivers/Transmitters, Telemetry Modules

Good to have?

a) Good written and verbal communication skills and able to communicate effectively with intended audience (English/Malay/Mandarin)

b) 2-3 years’ experience with Drone technology or related autonomous systems such as agv (automated guided vehicles), asv (autonomous surface vehicles) etc.

c) Object recognition and tracking with sensor processing (image processing)

d) Understanding of Aircraft Flight Dynamics and Control (Multirotor and Fixed-wing)

e) Ability to implement feedback controllers (ie. PID, or others)

f) Experience with low level programming, such as dealing with compiler assembly instructions, C language and C++

g) Kalman Filtering as applied to GPS/INS, IMUs or other sensors

h) Candidates with experience in 3D printing, PCB prototyping and/or other skills related to the construction and testing of electronics associated with autonomous UAV (Multirotors and Planes)
