Ruwell’s Buyer has a great level of ownership and accountability. With having your own brand and range responsibilities, it is at this level that you will be expected to have a holistic business-wide perspective, and identify wins and opportunities collaboratively outside of your own direct team.
We are looking for a Buyer who has industry experience in health & wellness and pharmaceutical who can create and execute buying plans, find efficiencies in the buying processes for the team, and demonstrating a strong knowledge of commercial decision making, and customer-focused insights.
Responsibilities:
- Develop monthly, seasonal, annual buying strategy for the target customers Analyzing sales and all key performance indicators to identify opportunities and risks in the product assortment and buying plan to drive strong in-season business
- Drive innovative, customer-facing ideas to ensure profitable market share growth within the category
- Completes and deals with all facets of contract negotiations with potential brands/ suppliers
- Manages supplier performance including intake margin, trading margin, sell-through, stock turn, delivery, etc
- Demonstrates an understanding of retail trends, and how these can affect the trading climate, regularly reads market research data, and spots new business opportunities
- Conducts regular competitor analysis to assess ranges, identify opportunity and direction for brand exclusives, gain ideas for online layout and content, brand acquisition opportunities, sales impacting initiatives, etc
- Identifies promotional/ marketing opportunities for the business in order to motivate further sales and provides a competitive and exciting retail environment for the customers
- Conduct market research on products and sales reviews
- Liaise and build strong relationships with various internal stakeholders such as Finance, Operations, and Marketing
