Job Description

• Provide leadership, management and technical vision to the Engineering division
• Direct and oversee the Engineering division in developing, releasing, and maintaining software applications/operating systems in accordance with the business direction of the Company
• Create functional strategies, budgets, policies, procedures and specific objectives for the Engineering division
• Stimulate hiring, career plans, training, mentoring and performance reviews for members of the Engineering division in an ethical and empathic manner
• Work with relevant stakeholders to develop, manage and ensure adherence of project scopes, objectives, technical feasibility, budget, resource allocation, schedule and roadmap planning
• Participate actively in Scrum software development process as Scrum Master
• Measure project metrics to ensure project quality, minimise risk and systematically handle changes in project scope, schedule and costs using appropriate tools and techniques
• Ensure that project documentation and source code produced by the Engineering division is well-organised, comprehensive, reusable, optimal and technically feasible where required
• Contribute to technical design documentation and produce well-organised, reusable, optimised, and documented source code
• Review all documents related to product requirement and participate in product brainstorming sessions
• Ensure the software products and services built by the Engineering division are of the highest quality and standards
• Manage joint development with third party vendors as well as outsourced development
• Interact and work closely with other departments of the organisation to ensure successful delivery of each product sprint iteration and release
• Work closely with other departments to design and implement mobile and web applications
• Design, craft and execute automated tests for frontend applications and backend services
• Design and implement scalable applications and backend services, taking into account security and data protection best practices
• Participate in code and design reviews to set and maintain high development standards
• Work independently when required, and continuously learn and improve management and engineering skills
• Manage and update requirement specification and status of tasks assigned to you in company-specified issue tracking systems on a day-to-day basis
• Maintain an orderly manner for storage of work-related files and folders
• To perform ad hoc work and tasks, and achieve goals and key performance indicators as set by the company
• Promote and uphold the vision, mission, core values, work ethics, culture and branding of Omnimatics within and outside the company

Job Requirements

• A profound knowledge of Computer Science, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Mechatronics or Electronics Engineering. Working experience of several of the above disciplines, especially in combination, is a strong advantage
• Minimum of 5 years of working experience in a relevant field OR a Master's degree in aforementioned scientific disciplines from an accredited college/university and 3+ years of working experience OR a PhD in aforementioned scientific disciplines from an accredited college/university and 1+ years of working experience in research and development
• Proven experience as a project manager or team lead, with good supervisory and teamwork skills in a fast-paced and challenging environment
• An inquiring mind, intense curiosity, and strong desire to innovate in the automotive sector
• Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software, hardware and embedded systems design and development. Familiarity with application development technologies such as mobile and web is a strong advantage
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and relevant cloud tools commonly used in project management
