Job Description

• Manage and guide a dynamic team of purchasing professionals
• Establish and implement purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures
• Report to management the status of progress and measurable corrective actions as it relates to supplier performance
• Negotiate and execute purchase orders or vendor contracts as needed to meet business needs
• Manage material flows to ensure inventory is maintained at optimal levels to support on -time delivery while maintaining inventory holdings at appropriate levels
• Develop and implement commodity / supply chain strategies strategically
• Lead commodity product expansion strategies in line with company initiatives to improve supply chain efficiency
• Encourage the use of cost models to validate commodity strategies and to understand significant cost drivers
• Manage all activities that establish relationships with suppliers
• Review and resolve any discrepancies with supplier invoices, complaints, claims, conflicts, product non -compliance or quality issues
• Negotiate prices, contracts, and payment terms with suppliers
• Arrange supplier meetings with appropriate officers to review and resolve problems or issues as needed
• Develop an overall vendor base that creates and maintains a competitive advantage
• Provide support to various departments required to meet cost targets and set cost models
• Manage material saving initiatives in line with profit plans and overall business objectives

Job Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma
• Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English. Mandarin will be an added advantage
• Preferably at least 2 year(s) working experience in the retail.
• Good working attitude, willing to learn and adapt to new environment quickly
• Self-motivated and passionate about retail
• Solid understanding of generally accepted purchasing principles and practices
• Knowledge of commodity supply chain practices and principles
