Job Description

1. The work will focus mostly on greenfield development and improvement of existing systems.
2. Projects will include building mobile APIs, developing micro-services to evolve our architecture, and perfecting a number of systems that our business depend on, like risk management, fraud detection, payment processing for example.
3. Our technology stack is still being built as will be based predominantly on Java 8 on the backend and AngularJS on the frontend.
4. There is an opportunity to introduce Scala for new components.
5. We have a minimalist approach to using external frameworks, with emphasis on maintainability and fast turnaround with TDD (test-driven development), DDD (domain-driven design) and Continuous Integration & Delivery.

Job Requirements

1. Ability to learn quickly on the go. We're looking for software engineers who thrive while learning new technologies and don't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. 
2. You have basic command of a frontend stack (Javascript/HTML/CSS).
3. You have knowledge of a backend stack, including technologies like MySQL and Java 8. Stacks like Node.js, Redis, Kafka, or similar are a plus.
4. Deep system design skills. You know how to build highly-scalable, robust, and fault-tolerant services that support our unique exponential growth requirements.
5. Bias toward action. You believe that speed and quality aren't mutually exclusive. You've shown good judgment about shipping as fast as possible while ensuring your products and platforms are built in a sustainably and responsibly.
