Position description
 
The senior executive of digital optimization will assist in developing the product vision and execution of all aspects of optimization and content personalization for the MPD portfolio of web and app properties. This role is part of the Data Services team within MPD and will play a big role in giving MPD users a better product experience based on their interests and affinities.

The candidate will assist in optimizing the integrated data efforts between MPD properties and its internal and external partners. This role is responsible for aligning the optimization activities with these partners and the digital team to ensure efficiency and shared learning. The goal is to drive cohesive experiences and leverage findings avoiding duplication.
 
He/she will assist in representing the optimization team’s perspective on larger enterprise initiatives around optimization and personalization, working with partners in other groups. 

 
Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and optimize end-to-end data flow using fact-based analysis and data to develop the insights that will drive an optimized digital strategy.
  • Analyze, recommend, and execute A|B and multivariate testing in relevant areas to optimize our users’ digital experiences.
  • Continuously test hypotheses using A|B and multivariate testing to optimize personalized experiences 

  • Assist in defining the roadmap and execute the development of MPD’s personalization capabilities
  • Work closely with Design, Product, Engineering, Content, Editorial, Marketing, and Ad Sales partners on a variety of projects to drive usage and create delightful experiences for consumers
  • Facilitate the ideation and development of new features and functionality around MPD’s optimization and personalization efforts

  • Align with various business units to propagate key customer offers into the multiple marketing channels, monitor performance and execute improvements to optimize engagement.
  • Assist in developing and analysing digital marketing performance reports based on optimization efforts and communicate with stakeholders areas that are effective as well as areas where improvement is needed.
  • Serves as primary contact with vendors for tasks including troubleshooting, implementation issues, campaign problems, performance reporting, and other functions related to optimization of user experience and  sold advertising plans.
  • Builds and maintains great relationships with clients and co-workers 
  • Works at both business unit and corporate levels while balancing the priorities of a diverse group of stakeholders. This includes providing transparency and recommendations on project trade-offs, understanding and coordinating dependencies across multiple teams.
  • Interface effectively and build strong communication channels with internal and external cross-functional partners.

  • Translate strategy and product vision into project deliverables with defined targets and timelines
  • Demonstrates deep understanding of the digital advertising marketplace. They leverage the portfolio of MPD ad and media services offerings to meet customer objectives.
  • Use data driven methods to identify opportunities for improving the quality of digital products that are encompassed in the consumer communications including email blasts, ad creative, delivery channels and content metadata.
  • Works with Account Executives and other departments to tell a data driven story and prove the value of campaigns that drive results for customers. Includes upsell and cross sell product recommendations to achieve client expectations and increase digital market share.
  • Drives initiatives for positive, constructive change. Looks for opportunities to encourage others to become an agent for change.
  • Ensure a data driven, analytical approach. Understand and analyze various drivers impacting key metrics and outcomes and provide a fact-based recommendation to the stakeholders 
  • Tracks performance and progress using quantifiable metrics 

  • Effectively manages workflow and multiple projects in a timely manner to meet deadlines. Proactively initiates projects as needed to support sales, marketing and ad ops team.
  • Embraces and quickly adapts to change.
  • Ongoing scan, assessment, and business case development of emerging digital technology trends and relevancy to long term digital transformation vision. Monitors and implements trends in the fields of web technology, online marketing, mobile and digital technologies.
  • Improves processes to ensure quality and timely execution of initiatives 



Job Requirements

 
  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferably Digital, Computer Science, Statistics, Management Information Systems or eCommerce
  • 2+ years of Digital Marketing, Strategy, UX or Technology Experience 
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge driving product development, preferably on optimization and personalization features for users
  • High level of comfort communicating with executives inside and outside of MPD, including strategic partners
  • A|B and multivariate testing. Experience conceiving, planning, implementing and learning from optimization, testing, usability and targeting initiatives
  • Analytical and quantitative skills. Understanding of Google Analytics 360 Suite and/or Tableau reporting tools.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill in PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work cross organizationally
  • Preferably possesses knowledge of key digital marketing concepts in addition to specs and best practices in banner and video advertising.
  • Collaborative approach to problem solving. Ability to function with a high degree of autonomy and freedom
