Job Description

• Responsible for external communication for the site and includes media relations, press conferences, public relations, crisis management and communication, managing emerging issues and act as an official spokesperson. 
• Maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of community, public interest groups, government officials/partners and media representatives. 
• Develop and employ effective communication channels that enhance the Organisation's visibility and reputation and to maintain favorable public perceptions of MAF, MAC and Pos' accomplishments and agenda. 
• Set standards of delivery and raise the quality of output locally, ensuring that all communication elements meet organisation and community supported requirements. 
• Draft speeches for the Chairman of MAF, President of MAC, Board of Trustees/EXCO and Executive Directors and arrange interviews and other forms of contact for them. 
• Coordinate and provide timely response to the media and/or other agencies on reporting in the media related to HIV/AIDS, MAC, MAF and PO. 
• Initiate, coordinate and/or provide support for press conferences, media interviews for MAF and MAC; or for events involving or supported by MAF and MAC. 
• Set disciplines and standards to ensure spokespersons are trained in media and presentation skills. 
• Responsible for providing support in the editorial aspect and coordinating the creative and production aspects of MAF and MAC's organisation communication materials such as the Annual Report, website, etc. 
• Manage and coordinate communication process in any official organisation's events/programmes i.e. Emcee of the event, Emcee script, etc. 
• Implement communication plans to increase brand awareness and recognition for the organisation. 
• Identify press opportunities through evolving issues. 
• Develop content for dissemination via press releases, social media, websites and other distribution channels. 
• Ensure that key messages align with both organisations' mission and vision. 
• Conduct press conferences and briefings. 
• Scan media marketplace to keep up with the latest media trends. 
• Monitor online and offline campaigns, and report on results. 
• Build and manage both organisations' social media profile and presence. 
• Promote additional projects to support new product launches. 
• Build long-term relationships with Red Ribbon Celebrity Supporters and Social Media influencers. 
• Carry out any other duties as may be directed by the Executive Directors to further the aims of MAF & MAC. 

Job Requirements

• Relevant Bachelor's degree/diploma holder

• Minimum of 5 to 8 years' experience in Mass Communication/Public Relations/Brand Management 

• Excellent media networking and community sensitivity. Excellent written and spoken skills. Proven media and reputable management skills. Ability to create, execute and manage high volume of projects/programmes/activities under tight deadlines. 

• Strong project management, problem-solving, negotiation, analytical and time management skills. Excellent English & Malay - Written and oral communication skills. Attention to detail, driven self-starter with positive outlook. Persuasive - Ability to persuade others to change their mindset or behavior. Social Perceptiveness – Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
