Job Description
As a part of the Alibaba family, we believe in empowering all aspiring entrepreneurs by making it easy to do business anywhere. The Category Management team are on the front line of the relationship between Lazada and our Sellers.
As a Category Management Associate you will be responsible for:
- Improving existing content on the category platform to be clear, creative and attractive with the purpose of increasing traffic.
- Negotiating best prices of SKUs in the market
- Monitoring and forecasting sales of top sellers within the category
- Working with cross-functional teams to execute on campaigns and strategic projects, as well as address merchants’ concerns with regards to operations, finance or marketing
- Increase the number of SKUs with the aim of presenting customers with the widest selection of products at the best prices
- Design targeted promotions or strategies to increase sales during campaign seasons
- Providing solutions for sellers to improve on the timeliness of shipments
- Identifying gaps with SKUs while growing a comprehensive range of assortments within the category.
- Negotiating marketing solutions to support top selling accounts
- Identifying, achieving and reporting sales performance of the category.
- Strategically finding the ideal solution and cost that meets the targets of both the business and sellers.
Job Requirements
To succeed in the role, you should ideally have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related fields (Sales, Marketing, Business)
- Minimum 2 - 5 years of work experience in e-commerce, retail, business development, buying or project management role
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal with demonstrated ability to influence others
- Strong analytical skills backed by intermediate knowledge of Excel, ability to use data to understand root causes of performance and make decisions
- Action and solution-oriented mindset, comfortable in fast-moving entrepreneurial environment
- Strong ownership and attention to details
- Passion about improving both customer and seller experience
- Team spirit and enthusiasm about learning
