Job Description
Working with our Creative Lead and team of graphic designers, you will provide strategic creative guidance about campaigns, branding and design.
You have a background in conceptual creative development, digital marketing and copywriting, whilst embracing an exceptionally high standard of brand design. You will provide creative guidance and direction to the graphic team and ensure consistency in tone of voice and visuals across marketing programs.
You will work across marketing, content, product, PR and Biz Dev teams through a variety of media. You will take on whole projects and/or help execute an approved creative direction.
Above all, we want someone who can develop solutions that are visually true to our brand, ensuring these creatives are of the highest quality that adhere to marketing strategies and our ever-evolving business goals.
Responsibilities
Your day-to-day tasks include:
Design marketing assets – 40% of the role
- Understand topline branding or marketing objectives to develop graphic design solutions (i.e creative briefs)
- Delegate, oversee and complete creative projects with graphic and/or video team
- Execute creative briefs with directions from Creative Lead
- Projects are but not limited to: marketing campaigns, performance ads and product packaging designs.
- Initiate new formats of content in response to performance reports and social media trends
Branding Work – 20% of the role
- Maintain and update brand style guides and ensure brand consistency across team output
- Develop new templates and styles to create rich libraries that are consistent to each brand
- Ideate, develop and execute graphic design solutions to support various branding campaigns
Project Management – 30% of the role
- Delegate briefs to graphic designers
- Oversee quality and efficacy of work of graphic designers
- Ensure all visual output of graphic team achieves objectives
- Ensure all visual output of graphics team is completed on time
- Work with leadership for internal presentations
Knowledge gathering - 10% of the role
- Research and study successful D2C brands’ creative directions and execution
- Apply research insights into Hydragun’s visual strategy
Job Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
Skills
- Strong design/art direction background
- Decent copywriting skills
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop)
- Leadership and interpersonal capabilities to build and inspire teams in the long term.
- Passion for content creation specific for new media, video, social content and paid advertising
- Excellent communication skills in presenting your designs to, and receiving feedback from Exec and Management level
Experience
- 2+ years of in-house brand experience or agency experience
- 2+ years in creative leadership roles
- 1+ years in performance graphic ads
- Successful completion of introductory courses in marketing, business, or equivalent
Education
- High school diploma and currently pursuing undergraduate degree preferred; or equivalent work experience required
Nice-to-haves
- Self-starter. Have started personal projects and seen it to completion with relative success
- Remote working experience with a team
- Successful completion of introductory courses in marketing, business, or equivalent
- Experience in videography production
