Job Description
- Hands-on new projects/modules development from design, implementation to production
- Enhance current core systems - change requests, customisation, performance optimisation & security
- Identify potentials bugs & bad code practices; suggest a suitable solution
- Work closely with Project Leads, Business Analysts, Testers and other Java Developers
Job Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering / Electrical Engineering.
- Min. 5 years of professional Java development (your current work should be on Java, Web & Spring).
- Strong in Java development, OOP, MVC and Functional Paradigm.
- Strong in Spring Framework e.g. Spring MVC, Spring Batch, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data.
- Strong in Hibernate and know when to use Raw SQL.
- Strong in web development e.g. Thymeleaf/JSP, HTML 4/5, CSS & Javascript.
- Strong in RDMS e.g. MySQL, and also have good experiences to evaluate slow query, adding indexes, database normalisation.
- Experiences building Java projects from scratch (rather than copy/paste).
- Experiences setting up/consuming SOAP and REST web services either local or 3rd party e.g. banks/Government.
- Familiarity in test driven development using JUnit, Mocking, etc.
- Familiarity in production deployment - Tomcat, Dockers, Linux - Centos/RedHat.
- Familiarity using Continuous Integration & Source Control e.g. Jenkins + Git.
- Familiarity using built-in and 3rd party APM tools to monitor web and database performances.
- Familiarity using Maven / Gradle.
- Familiarity in Java applet is a plus.
