Job Description

This individual will form a core part of the Finance Leadership team, building and managing a team of accounts assistants in Kuala Lumpur to deliver finance support to the global GuestReady business. Reporting directly to the UK based Head of Finance, this role would be a great opportunity for a dynamic individual who has more than 5 years of experience within a finance team, and is looking to step-up into a finance leadership role. The role will suit somebody who is willing to get their hands dirty and dive into the detail, who likes solving accounting and finance issues and is able to think creatively and collaboratively to solve problems.

Job description:
  • Responsible for the execution of the day-to-day finance processes for the business, working closely with the KL and London operations teams to ensure finance support for these teams is of the highest quality
  • Manage a team of accounts assistants, delivering quality and timely output for financial reporting purposes
  • Perform analyses and reports as requested by the Head of Finance
  • Prepare and review the monthly management accounts for the respective markets
  • Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner on Xero
  • Oversee VAT submissions and other tax/compliance requirements for the relevant regional entities
  • Oversee the accounts payable process for the global business
  • Responsible for the monthly balance sheet reconciliations and close process, including the preparation and posting of monthly journals
  • Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions

Job Requirements


Person requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance or similar 
  • ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Fluent in English
  • Detail oriented, with a strong focus on quality
  • A proactive hands-on attitude
  • A problem-solving multitasker, adept at prioritising in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to work with the highest ethical and professional quality standards.
  • At least 5 years experience in a finance-related role
