Job Description

• Giving accurate and timely counsel in a variety of legal topics to Green Packet Berhad and its group of companies ("Group");
• Providing commercially astute advice and make commercially savvy decisions to the Group;
• Collaborating with other business units to devise efficient defense strategies;
• Reserach and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations;
• Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues;
• Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the interests of the Group are protected;
• Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces;
• Coordinate, prepare, draft, review and negotiate any related documents and contracts in relationto any corporate transaction or exercise; (e.g. mergers and acquisitions, divestments, etc.);
• Communicate and negotiate with external parties (customers, suppliers, etc.);
• Handling, managing and overseeing disputes and lawsuits;
• Communicate and manage external counsel;
• Delivering technical know-how in a way that has a transformative impact on business;
• Performing various tasks related to legal matters in the Group;
• Where applicable, ensure Commercial Executive Summary is used and duly executed by the stakeholder before agreement is signed by the authorised signatory;
• Assist in managing and keeping track of contracts, including updating master list. Filing, stamping and other matters related thereto.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor dgeree in law from an accredited university
• Minimum 3 years work experience in legal practice, preferably corporate or commercial matters would be an advantage
• Good communication skills, oral and written
• Excellent command of English
• Judgment: sound judgment and ability to draw reasonable, logical conclusions or assumptions from limited information
• Analytical skill: ability to analyse situations and information
• Research skill: being able to reserach quickly and effectively is essential to understanding stakeholders, their needs, and to preparing legal strategies
• People skill: Able to influence and build relationships through good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Creativity: Display a great deal of creativity in their problem solving skills
• Able to effectively set and manage expectations with business stakeholders
• Must be well organized and accurate in work
• Able to work under pressure and tight schedules with minimum supervision
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality about legal matters
• High degree of professional ethics and integrity
• Comfortable working in a fast paced environment with broad, generalist, responsibilities, but with specilaist legal skills in commercial law
