Job Description

Brighttail is a growing B2B marketing agency looking for a skilled WordPress Developer to develop highly customized WordPress websites for high-tech businesses.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to build creative websites with modern design trends. You should be a conscientious developer who takes pride in writing clean code that is easy to maintain, and a team player who can work closely with the team to deliver the best results.

Job responsibilities

Implement new features and content on our existing websites
Code and implement WordPress sites from design to custom WordPress theme
Troubleshoot errors emerging from existing websites
Ensure site is mobile-friendly and fully responsive
Review design mockup with Creative team
Participate in team meetings

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar field
At least one year of professional web development experience
Proven work experience in custom theme development in WordPress
Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (jQuery), PHP and MySQL
Strong front-end skills: can turn a design into semantic HTML and CSS that works smoothly in modern browsers
Good design sense with a keen eye for detail; passionate about crafting beautiful responsive website
Familiar with Bootstrap 4.x.
Familiar with CSS preprocessors (SCSS and LESS)
Familiar with local development environments, such as MAMP or Local
Familiar with version control (Git)
Experienced with WordPress plugins such as Advanced Custom Fields, Contact Form 7, WooCommerce
Good debugging skills: able to troubleshoot and modify premade plugins
Knowledgable about SEO and SEM best practices
Some knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop
Willingness to develop the occasional HTML email (it happens)
