Job Description

We are looking for proactive, independent, innovative interns with strong interest in handling product development and preparation, ensure smooth operations, managing our orders and good analytical skills. Attending bazaars and artisan markets will be part of your work. Hence, we are looking for interns who enjoy going for public events, engaging with customers, warm-natured and friendly.

Kindly take note that you may be expected to work on weekends and you will be compensated with off days on the following week.

Your roles include:
  • Assist production process
  • Mending, alterations, tailoring, and up-cycling, or straight forward production processes
  • Sustainable product research and SOPs
  • Ensure smooth daily operation and getting orders/ projects done according to the timeline
  • Assist and work side by side with our head tailor on various projects at hand
  • Attending bazaars and artisan markets for sales, occasionally.

Working within Biji Biji Ethical Fashion team, you will have the opportunity to witness all key phases of the entire ethical fashion (handmade fashion accessories and apparels) flow and process. You will get the chance to take part in group brainstorming/ideation sessions.

Workflow fluctuates frequently and there will be a wide variety of tasks that will inevitably teach you something new.

What you will learn:
As a small team, you will be able to receive intensive training and understand the various tasks quickly. In this internship, you will be able to learn about many different aspects that are involved in a slow fashion industry and its management and you will learn about the whole combination of ethical fashion awareness and society engagement.

Job Requirements

  • Candidate must possess or currently pursuing a Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design / Textile or any related field
  • Ability to use a home sewing machine
  • Ability to use an industrial single needle and serger (you will learn if you haven't used these machines!)
  • Attention to detail
  • Can communicate directly and efficiently
  • Driver's License
  • Able to work to deadline and long hours during bazaars 
  • Be enthusiastic, curious and positive

Effectively deal with ad-hoc challenges, keep calm in pressing situations, be flexible with last-minute changes, and still have a positive attitude throughout :)

During your internship period, you are required to be familiar about our team vision and mission.
