You will be working with a detail-oriented team that consists of Project Managers, Programme Directors and Programme Designers that work toward a goal to create social change by managing education programs, stakeholders and beneficiaries - prescribing to Me.reka Programs Framework. 

The Programme that you will be attached to is YSEALI Civic Engagement Capacity & Skills Building for Youths in Malaysia. This 9-month program aims to provide a continuum of opportunities with the necessary skills for inclusive and effective civic participation to empower the broadest possible range of youths to participate based on their individual and collective interests, needs, and development stages by training more than 1,000 youths from Malaysia who are ready to participate and implement an advocacy and lobbying campaign in diverse types of youth civic engagement. 

Through this scalable 3-phase program with its open-source online features, it is expected to address the most pressing local and national challenges while impacting more than 1,000 newly registered YSEALI members during the first year of its implementation.
 
Core Responsibilities:
 
This position will support several areas and perform various tasks across the project processes. Some of these tasks include:
  • Supporting the project managers from the beginning until the closing period of projects
  • Supporting in organizing, planning, developing and completing projects or programs to specified performance goals
  • Supporting in managing and coordinating digital platform for virtual programme activities and meeting
  • Supporting in estimating takeoff, assembling finished proposals, and managing projects
  • Supporting market research, and new business development activities
  • Supporting in creating copy for programmatic and educational content
  • Performing project tracking and reporting related to the plan in terms of task completion dates, costs and resources used
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

You will also learn about many different aspects that are involved in 21st-century education for human-centric design, youth empowerment, community development and social impact, through our education programme and courses.

Job Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree or masters in project management, public administration, international development, sustainable development, public policy, or any other relevant field
  • If you have no formal education in these fields, yet have a deep interest, experience and required skills, do still submit your application
  • Above 3.0 CGPA / Second Class upper (Hons)
  • Less than 1-year of working experience
  • Writing skills: Must have a mastery of language: Great spelling, punctuation and grammar count, as well as the ability to write succinctly and boil complex ideas down into simple explanations
  • Passionate about creating social change and socioeconomic factors

  • Demonstrated commitment to reaching ambitious team goals and the ability to influence and motivate others to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • The high degree of adaptability: ability to quickly adjust in a fast-paced, achievement-oriented, and Volatile, Uncertain, Challenging
  • Able to think strategically, creatively, innovatively, and in a resourceful manner.
  • Strong verbal and written communication: well-versed about our organisation, mission and goals.
  • Willing to travel, as well as working over unconventional hours (e.g. selected weekends or nights for chasing the deadlines)

Would be a plus point if you have:
  • Experience in self-initiated projects
  • 1 - 2 years experience in project management for impact projects
  • Experience working and/or in social enterprises and its business development
  • Able to work well with GSuite, Project Management Tools (Basecamp, Trello, Asana), Airtable, Slack, Zoom, and Canvas LMS
