Job Description

The team:
Me.reka is an open-source education platform that advocates for learning outside the traditional classroom paired with unconventional fun! At Me.reka, anyone can come together to share ideas, pick up new skills, and make things.

You will be working with Industrial Design and Fashion Production manager to assist on production, design project, end-to-end prototyping and customisation work.

We are looking for proactive, independent, innovative interns with a strong interest in learning the scope of industrial design and production by managing our clients and orders, and designing client's small projects. Hence, we are looking for interns who enjoy engaging with customers and partners, warm-natured and friendly.

Responsibilities
  • Work with us to create 3D printed architectural mock-ups, LED art metal and wood sculpture, and laser-engraved creative items
  • Learn using fabrication tools and equipment, laser engraver and 3D printers. 
  • Assist to handle clients and manage their expectations on different projects,
  • Assist on the production work such as updating and recording the stock inventory
  • Monitor the sales on sales channels - website, social media and marketing channels.
  • Assist the team in ensuring orders are being produced according to the timeline

You will get the chance to build your industrial design portfolio and create your creative independent projects by accessing Me.reka tools and types of machinery.

Do note that the role would require you to be in the workplace. We are still operating under strict SOP.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree majoring in Industrial Design, Built Environment, Architecture, Product Design, Manufacturing Engineering, or any related field.
  • Specialize in AutoCAD, Inventor, 3ds Max, Solidworks, Rhino, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
  • Possess interest to assist a manager and work as a team player for both scope of Industrial Design and Production
  • Personality: an eye for design, willing to learn and be creative, positive and enthusiastic

Effectively deal with ad-hoc challenges, keep calm in pressing situations, be flexible with last-minute changes, and still have a positive attitude throughout :)
