We are looking for a driven Business Development & Sales intern with superior strategic and analytical skills, natural sales instincts and a passion for change. As part of this team, we are on the hunt for a self-motivated intern, with an appetite for taking on real responsibility to assist in growing the business and extending our impact.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in developing sales strategies and conducting market research
  2. Assist in setting up and developing sales leads generation mechanisms.
  3. Assist with drafting proposals, business plans, sales pitches, presentations, reference material, and other documents as required.
  4. Assist in cultivating strong relationships with new clients, while maintaining existing client relationships
  5. Work closely with the Project team to execute project plans
  6. Work closely with the Marketing & Communications team on sales and business development tasks
  7. Collating and maintaining sales and business development databases.
  8. To support as needed on wider Business Development and Sales activity, with other organizational activities.

Job Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree or masters in business, sales, marketing, international development, sustainable development, public policy, law, English, journalism, education or any other relevant field
  • If you have no formal education in these fields, yet have a deep interest, experience and required skills, do still submit your application
  • Writing skills: Must have a mastery of language: Great spelling, punctuation and grammar count, as well as the ability to write succinctly and boil complex ideas down into simple explanations
  • Creativity: Able to understand Request for Proposals and creatively explain ideas in a way that is appealing
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, to meet deadlines
  • Organized, sequential, planned and detailed
  • Excellent command of the English and Malay language (preferred)

Effectively deal with ad-hoc challenges, keep calm in pressing situations, be flexible with last-minute changes, and still have a positive attitude throughout.

Willing to travel, as well as working over unconventional hours (e.g. selected weekends or nights when chasing deadlines)
