Are you keen to research and design education programs for social change - prescribing to Me.reka Pedagogy? Are you organized, sequential, planned and detailed? Are you into creating changes in serving 21st-century education to our innovators of the future? 

Me.reka Programs teaches/trains on upskilling, digital literacy, youth empowerment, civic engagement, community development, social entrepreneurship, and sustainability.

You will work primarily with our impact program team, NGO partners, government agencies, relevant stakeholders and experts/contractors.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
  • designing and developing instructional materials (lesson plans, teaching and learning materials (modules, videos, assignments, quizzes, final projects, etc) as per Me.reka Pedagogy
  • design, curate, and organize physical and virtual training and classes for participants
  • deliver physical and virtual training and classes, and troubleshoot any arising matters that might affect program delivery
  • design, develop and oversee mentorship component including identification of mentors, matching with participants, scheduling and monitoring mentorship sessions
  • develop and maintain an engaging relationship with program participants and partners, ensuring the program and participants are on track in meeting all their deliverables
  • develop relationships and partnerships with field experts, industry experts, academia, and potential mentors to collaborate in program delivery.
  • working with multiple stakeholders and program partners

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Education, Entrepreneurship, Social Studies, and other relevant fields.
  • 2-3 years of experience in instructional design, teaching, and training. The best opportunity for Teach for Malaysia Fellows. 
  • Excellent written and spoken command of the English and Malay language. Must have a mastery of language: Great spelling, punctuation and grammar count, as well as the ability to write succinctly and boil complex ideas down into simple explanations
  • Familiarity with Canvas, Airtable, Slack, and Virtual instructional design and teaching experience will be an advantage. 
  • Effectively deal with ad-hoc challenges, keep calm in pressing situations, be flexible with last-minute changes, and still have a positive attitude throughout.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including weekends, when the project requires so
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, to meet deadlines
  • Possess a driving license and own transportation
  • Willing to travel nationwide amidst Covid-19 pandemic
