Are you an energetic person to operate our Open Sauce Kitchen?

About the team:
This team offers a place in Me.reka to unleash the creativity of community. Creative Hub engages with creative enthusiasts through internal or external Me.reka events, workshops and programmes. The team also manages Open Sauce Community Kitchen which serves the modern mindset of curious learners within the F&B industry and customers.

At Open Sauce Kitchen, we make simple artisanal, tasty and healthy food. 
Our ingredients are consciously sourced from local markets. 
We are serious about minimizing wastes too.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Be at the Front of House
  • Provide service to the guests
  • Assist to manage inventory of ingredients and supplies
  • Assist to monitor the daily operation of Open Sauce Kitchen
  • Facilitate for Open Sauce Kitchen workshop and programmes

You may be required to work evenings and weekends for Me.reka Events & Programmes. Replacement leaves will be provided in these instances.

What you will learn:
As a small team, you will be able to receive intensive training and understand the various tasks quickly. In this internship, you will be able to learn about many different aspects that are involved in F&B management and you will learn about the whole combination of artisanal food, education and society engagements. 
 
All roles at Biji-biji and Me.reka are about making changes, innovation and making things real. You are to be part of our team to demonstrate passion and commitment to education, lifelong skills and iron out community challenges.

Job Requirements

  • Energetic and passionate about culinary arts, hospitality, creativity and F&B management
  • Possess background or interest in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Event Management or any related field
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Interest in (1) Aesthetic  and (2) Facilitating
  • Soft Skills: people person, good communication and social skills, creative, openness to learn and try new things
 
Effectively deal with ad-hoc challenges, keep calm in pressing situations, be flexible with last-minute changes, and still have a positive attitude throughout :) 

During your internship period, you are required to be familiar about Me.reka Makerspace and our sub-team, Creative Hub vision and mission.
