Job Description
The primary goal of this role is to educate the company on the best practices and approaches on engaging with YouTube as a platform on a regular basis, working in conjunction with cross-border teams to improve individual video performance and to do as much as you can to see that these best practices below are implemented effectively.
Your Responsibilities:
- Providing guidance on title/tag/description/ optimization as needed for each video on youtube platform (for SEO purposes). Ensuring our channel videos can be searched via youtube platform
- Assist in the planning of topic selection for future uploads.
- Help plan upload timing (i.e., when to post) and promotion of uploads such as:
- "Do the uploads need any social promotion?"
- "What new ways can we get people to view our content?" - A data analyst/reporter for content (post-upload).
- Provide certainty, clarity and actionable feedback on content that has been uploaded.
- Provide guidance both on what succeeded, as well as what failed, and why.
- Provide recommendations on how to improve future performance.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Guiding the growth of our YouTube presence year over year (Views, Rev, Watch Time, Subscribers).
- Responsible for advice, feedback, and analysis on thumbnails, titles, descriptions and topic selection (i.e., helping to answer "is there a better way to promote/or create the videos so it can attract more views" ).
- Providing guidance after publishing of content (e.g "what could have improved the views/subscribers I got on this video").
- Reporting on current performance of our YouTube content, and why the content is performing the way its performing.
- Audit old accounts/channels and old content to see either:
- How old content interacts with current content and future content
- What we can learn from what we’ve done right or wrong in the past - Audit more recent content and identify rooms for improvements on thumbnails, titles, and other SEO best practices.
Job Requirements
- 2+ years of experience working on (and around) the YouTube platform
- Proven experience in managing, growing and optimizing youtube channels (e.g views/subscribers)
- YouTube CMS experience
- Able to communicate in English and Chinese
- In-depth understanding of the digital marketing landscape and a proven interest in keeping up-to-date with developments in web platforms and applications
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of metric reporting
- Excellent communicator, leader, and guide; loves to share
