Repurposing salvaged trees isn’t merely recycling. It is a touch of Art. Art of Tree specializes in making modern contemporary furniture out of salvaged timber. These are sourced from the fallen, dead or unwanted trees in the urban areas and not from the forest.
Salvaged urban trees, unlike forest trees, has several distinct characteristic to them. They are often irregular in shape, and some have cavities within them. These non-conformity in size and imperfections in the wood render them unpopular with timber merchants as raw material.
However, at Art of Tree, we see the beauty in these flaws and we believe there is a greater purpose that lies in between the cracks of every fallen tree. No matter how odd, all it takes is the brilliance of the mind to turn the imperfections into one of a kind masterpiece. We call ourselves Art of Tree because Art takes precedence over the tree. Since its inception in 2014, we have spent the initial years experimenting and honing our skills with various techniques on our wood. By 2016, we have made a breakthrough in incorporating resin techniques, glass and steelworks to produce an array of artistic yet functional furniture. Since then, we have been rapidly growing as a company with our works gaining popularity with designers and discerning home owners. Finally in the third quarter of 2017, we reached a new milestone where we exported our maiden shipment to the Middle East.
As a rising design house, we aspire to gather more accolades for our works and establish our brand internationally as the premier designer green furniture from Malaysia.
